Identity Scaffolding

The temporary use of discipline to support a new identity until it can hold itself up.

Identity scaffolding reframes discipline as a temporary structure rather than a permanent engine. In the early phase, when the new identity is still thin on evidence, deliberate effort holds the behaviour in place.

As evidence accumulates and the identity stabilises, the scaffolding comes down. The aim is never to strengthen discipline indefinitely, but to make it unnecessary.
