Self-Story
The narrative a person carries about who they are, assembled largely without conscious choice and reinforced by self-talk.
The self-story is the running narrative underneath the self-image — the account of 'who I am' built from early experience and repeated in everyday self-talk.
Because it's a story rather than a fixed fact, it can be rewritten: not by denying the past, but by choosing which evidence you keep giving weight to and which you retire.
